It's a lot! In fact, it's too much. Parents are, once again, faced with juggling your own work, families' needs, while figuring out how to teach your kids. Students are expected to have a whole range of self-management skills to learn at home. Schools are pushing out new software and technology platforms, and those emails! Wow.
I am here to help you and your students navigate your distance education and online learning.
I have fifteen years of classroom teaching experience in the humanities and media arts. I have specific training in the International Baccalaureate subjects of English Literature HL, Theory of Knowledge, and Extended Essays. I teach all levels of English [9-12], photography, video production, and media literacy. I work closely with a tutor who can help with regular and advanced classes in math and science.

Learning Pods or 'bubble' school
'Bubble School' is a small [usually 3-5] group of students meeting once a week, in person, to support and supplement their learning. Students are within a similar grade band and are enrolled in a school [public, private, charter] full time. The content comes mostly from their teachers. Supportive and supplemental curriculum is offered to enrich their learning and expand their understanding of subjects.
Where do we meet? It is likely that you are already in a Covid19 'bubble' with other kids and parents. As such, you will determine a place to gather that can ensure the safest environment for students, their families, and the instructor. Precautions will be taken with masks, taking temperatures, using a pulse oximeter, and other measures that may change as determined by the CDC and all parties.
When do we meet? Given the schedules for the 2020-2021 school year have not been set, the first weeks of September will be instrumental in determining the schedule of the learning pod. Flexibility in the first weeks is key, as we determine the most strategic time to meet for students to be successful with their school's deadlines.

Individual tutoring and instruction
Instruction and tutoring is available for your student both in person and through a virtual platform [Zoom or Google Meet]. This is the most flexible and engaging environment given that your student is at the center of the process. Is it subject-specific help that's needed? Specific assignments or tasks? Are there gaps or missed learning in their skills that are keeping them from feeling confident and successful? At the core of this process is building a strong, trusting relationship between the student and their tutor.

Pricing options will include hourly, weekly, and monthly plans for individual students and pods. Please, contact us for more information.
